The growth and well being of children has always been the philosophy of The Little School. With that in mind and supported by the generosity of our school community, we have established a Philanthropy committee that has adopted several important local and international initiatives for the year.

• We adopted the Marin Food Bank for the year. At both of our schools, each month, one of the classes (nursery, preschool, pre-K) is filling one barrel with selected food staples (e.g., cereal, canned goods).


• For boys and girls living in the Marin foster care system, we have committed to creating individual backpacks filled by our children with school supplies and personal articles. The backpacks are intended to serve as a constant for the children who often experience multiple relocations.

• Our families are donating art supplies and basic toiletries to one of Haiti's mountain schools, transported in two suitcases that the children helped to pack along with drawings they did for the Haitian schoolchildren.


• Working with Sion Fonds in 2010, The Little School dedicated funds to educate two nursing students in Haiti. The children will learn about the students' progress and experiences.

The Little School children are active in the school's philanthropy programs, increasing their awareness of other cultures and life situations.
